We would like to explain what a network is and how it works (terms, definitions, basic diagrams, etc.) and then set up a network with the computers in the room. We will briefly present the history of Linux and examine this, on the one hand, as a possible structure model for collaborative working and distributed knowledge in other contexts as well, and on the other hand, discuss practical experiences of working within this structure. We would also like to do a basic installation of a Linux distribution, if possible, but here again, we need to know what is already installed. We would like to present the concepts of free software and open source - also with examples - and why we believe that using free software is an important political choice. Throughout the workshops, we will bring in our different perspectives from the different ways that we work with networks and with Linux.
